Ian Meikle - Managing Director

Ian Meikle is the Managing Director of Eversley Ventures Inc. He started out life in the British Army, and during his 15 years in the service he was involved in many practical and outdoor activities including unarmed combat, Outward Bound, winter survival in Norway and jungle warfare in Malaysia.

Ian played Rugby and during his career played for the combined services and was a member of the Hong Kong International team whilst stationed with the Army there in 1972. He subsequently played first class rugby with Ayr in Scotland and London Irish in England. When he retired from playing he took up coaching and has coached successfully at all levels. He has been a founder of 3 rugby clubs during his career and still has a passion for the game.

Ian has around 30 years of international sales experience in the semiconductor and related hi tech industries. He has held several senior management positions, servicing mostly international markets, and worked in Asia for 16 years. He has previously established several companies in Asia on behalf of US corporations.

Ian has experience in planning and directing sales meetings, managing projects, and has planned and directed a variety of training programs in a corporate environment.

Ian moved permanently to the Philippines in 2006 and is now a founder and the Managing Director of Eversley Ventures Inc., a Makati based company focusing on Team Building, training and running events.

Ian believes that the greatest asset a company has is it’s people and his focus now is to help them develop the skills that will make them successful and happy in their jobs.

Ralph Balmaceda - Facilitator
Ralph Balmaceda is an officer of Eversley Ventures Inc. and manages the day to day activity of Events and Teams. Ralph has a B.S. in Medical Technology but found his way into the travel industry. He has been General Manager & Tour Coordinator of Essence and Scenes Adventure Tour since 2001 responsible for the management and operations of the company.

Ralph conducts in-house training for all staff including on-call Tour Guides & Tour Conductors and has conducted tours to all tourist destinations in the Philippines. Essence and Scenes Adventure Tour does all the booking & reservation for local tour destinations and accommodations. He also creates tour programs depending on the requirements of clients.

Ralph is highly qualified in First Aid, CPR, Water Safety & Rescue and was awarded as an Outstanding First Aider by the Phil. National Red Cross National HQ during a training in April 2005. He is also qualified as a Swimming instructor, Basic Mountaineering course instructor, and an Instructor for Camping activities.

Essence and Scenes Adventure Tour is a member of PHILTOA and Ralph was nominated for Board of Trustees, Phil. Tour Operators Association in Dec. 2007

Ralph enjoys walking, swimming, mountaineering, scuba diving and all other mountain and water adventure sports, reading, cooking and associating with other people. He also plays guitar and dances.
